HOW I WENT FROM ROCK BOTTOM, TO THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COACH IN STRONGMAN IN 5 YEARS.

6 years ago I was working for an insurance company doing mindless data entry, stuck in a rut with no idea what the future would hold.

Little did I know I was days away from hitting rock bottom.

Before I knew it I was fired from my job and left with nothing to my name.

The day my 11th job application of the week got rejected, I decided that I was going to make my own fate.

I'd always had a dream of owning my own gym but never thought I'd get the opportunity.

After a decade of competing in strongman and being told constantly that there was no money in the sport...

I thought f*ck it.

I took a lease out on a janky old warehouse building and borrowed money from anyone that would listen to buy gym equipment.

It was a painfully slow process to get good business at first.

I was coaching anyone and everyone who came through the door.

Friends, parents, partners, kids.

It didn’t matter what you looked like or the style of training you wanted.

It didn’t matter to me if they wanted to deadlift 400kg, lose some weight before a girls holiday, or get their first press up.

Everyone became a potential client, when I had bills to pay.

After the first year we had found a core group of athletes that all wanted to get strong and this became my ride or die customer base.

But this was a blessing in disguise.

I went head first into online coaching, going from 30 online clients to nearly 100 in the first year.

I have only used exercises that I use with my clients.

If I didn't believe the exercises was worthwhile, it would not be in the app!

Each session starts with a movement prep, for getting your body ready to lift heavy in a healthy manner.

Then you choose what exercise to do for your main compound lift, Squats, Deadlifts, Log Press, Bench and then chose available accessories for each lift.

And then each session finishes with mandatory shoulder/ankle/knee/hip stability work and a parasympathetic switch.

This is to give your nervous system chance to relax after a taxing session and allow your body to start recovering faster.
